Great Things from the Mighty One

 Read the Word:  “My soul exalts the Lord and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has had regard for the humble state of His bondslave; for behold, from this time on all generations will count me blessed. For the Mighty One has done great things for me and holy is His name” (Luke 1:48-49).  

Apply the Word: This portion of scripture is known as the Magnificat which is a song of Mary.  As we approach Christmas, the time when we collectively celebrate the birth of Christ, let’s rejoice and praise the Lord as Mary did. She says that the Mighty One has done great things. What are some great things the Lord has done for you? Think about at least two great things He’s done on your behalf and begin to give God some praise for them.
