 Herod the Hater

 Read the Word:  “ ‘Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.’  When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him” (Matthew 2:2-3).  

 Apply the Word: Herod was one bad actor. He hated the fact that the Magi came to worship Jesus as Jesus was the legitimate, divine King.  Herod’s outrage was so bad that he lied about wanting to worship Jesus when he really wanted to kill Jesus. None of us should want to do harm to others.  As we think about Herod’s mistakes, we can learn a few things.  We need to be surrendered to Christ and not worry about being in control like Herod wanted to be. We also need to always help the cause of Christ and not hinder it.  Don't be a hater of Christ be a lover of Christ. Worship Him today.
