Set Apart

Read the Word:  “Thus you are to be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy; and I have set you apart from the peoples to be Mine” (Leviticus 20:26).

Apply the Word: This verse is completely inspiring for many reasons. One of the most important reasons is because we know that the word holy means set apart. You are special because God set you apart to be all His. He does not want us to be isolated from other people, but He wants us to remember where we come from and who we are.  So, let’s ask ourselves the question. Who are we? How does the Word describe us? According to Peter, in the King James version, “We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9).  You are set apart, and it’s perfectly fine to not do what the world does, because although we live in the world we are not of it (John 17:16).  We belong to him and that’s special.  Praise God today for setting you apart, and let’s do the best we can to live that way.
